Filmmaker Leone Marucci identified his life’s passion at an early age. He created his first movie at age twelve and has been entrenched in the business and craft ever since.
Leone recently developed and produced The Inhabitant, a horror thriller starring Odessa A’zion, Leslie Bibb, Dermot Mulroney and Lizze Broadway released by Lionsgate and Gravitas Ventures in 2022. He also served as the picture editor on the film.
Additionally in 2022, he was a Co Executive Producer on Petr Jakl’s action biopic Medieval, starring Ben Foster, Michael Caine, Til Schweiger and Michael Goode and released worldwide by The Avenue and Paramount Home Entertainment.
Leone launched a career in Hollywood in the late 1990’s assisting in special fx, costume and art departments on major studio films The Truman Show, Blade, and Anaconda before venturing into independent cinema for budding production companies HSX Films and Ignite Entertainment both founded by current Chairman of Lionsgate Films, Michael Burns.
Since 2010, Leone has since produced, directed or consulted on over $35M of productions made for the cinema.
Leone’s stylized short film Meddle and Steal received critical acclaim and lead to his debut feature The Power of Few. The time bending action drama attracted a renowned cast that included Academy Award Winner Christopher Walken, Golden Globe Winner Christian Slater, Anthony Anderson, Moon Bloodgood, and Navid Neghaban. Alongside co-producer & actor Q’orianka Kilcher, Leone designed and implemented a cutting edge interactive campaign inviting the global audience to help create the final film. The film won Best Picture at the ARPA International FIlm Festival and was released theatrically in the US and around the world.
Leone is actively producing Jade, an action revenge film starring Mickey Rourke and Shaina West. He continues to develop intriguing and thought provoking entertainment through Steelyard Pictures, including the thriller The Dire Wolf and Superthief, an action crime drama based on the true story behind the biggest hank heist in US history.
Leone mentors emerging writers through the Independent Screenwriters Association’s Fast Track program. On occasion, he will produce and direct live action commercials and new media campaigns for various companies including Disney, MTV, NFL, Taco Bell, Toyota, Loan Depot, Chosen Foods, and Guess.
